Elegibility & Costs

The service is available to adults with a learning disability that have been assessed as needing a day service.

The service will be tailored to individual's identified needs.

Should 1:1 support be identified as a requirement, this can be arranged through Waves.


  • The service is available to adults and young people who are aged 16 and over.
  • The centre will be open for 50 weeks a year with 1 annual closure at Christmas.
  • Holidays taken outside of the closure will be charged at a normal daily rate.


  • The service provided is available Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm. Members spend a full 7 hours at the centre, transporation will be between 8-9 am and drop off is between 4 5pm


  • The fees are from £60 a day and are due in advance on a monthly bases, payments to be arranged before first attendance either by BACS, standing order, cheque or cash.
  • Transport, Breakfast, a two course Lunch, afternoon tea, juice, jugs of water and fresh fruit are included in certain packages.
  • All members (if appropriate) will be encouraged and supported to undertake travel training to empower them to be more independent and use public transport.
  • Certain activities, such as horse riding, would incur an extra cost.
  • Fees are subject to an annual review with effect from 1st April each year.
  • All members would be encouraged to obtain a Kirklees Passport and a bus/train pass to minimise the cost of entry to leisure centres and transportation to and from activities in the community.
  • Absences of any kind including sickness must be paid for.
  • The contract will be for 12 months with an opportunity to renew. One month notice would need to be given to Waves should the member wish to leave or reduce their sessions.
